Character Development Questions #1 - The Basics
   1. Name: Zack.
   2. Age: A couple months younger than Leanne. [/shot] So, about 20-ish.
   3. Approximate height: …About… 5’11.
   4. Approximate weight: IDK, normal weight for a 20-year old?
   5. Hair colour: Black.
   6. Eye colour: Blue.
   7. Skin tone: Slight tan.
   8. Do they speak with an accent: No. As much as I’d love him to have a country twang… xDD NEVER MIND.
   9. Where are they from: Out in the country of the Mist Continent.
  10. Where are they now: With Auron’s lot, in the Mist Continent. (Boy doesn’t move around much.)


Character Development Questions #2 - Backstory
   1. Who are their parents? Angeal and Solfege, who live on a farm in the Mist Continent. My god, yes, I know, normal parents who are still alive…!
   2. What is their earliest memory: Probably something to do with helping out his parents. Boring, I know.
   3. What did they want to be when they grew up: He probably didn’t know- he just wanted to see what the towns and cities and stuff were like. A badass, obviously.
   4. What did/do their parents want them to be: Farmer, following in their footsteps.
   5. Do they have siblings? Older or younger? Only chiiiiild!
   6. Do they have or have they ever had children? How many: Nope, because Auron would have killed him.
   7. Do they or have ever had a significant other? Are they still with them? Why? Why not: Yes, mostly- and then no. He had Leanne, but then she thought he was dead and ran off, and right now he has no clue where she is.
   8. What were they doing right before the story starts: Convincing Auron that he wasn’t dead and had just been recovering all that time in his parents’ care…
   9. Up until now, what's the most noteworthy thing they've done? To them? To the people around them? Are they different things for different people?: Ending up on the brink of death is a biggie. xD
  10. What was their education like: No formal education, which, erm… means basically no education. He can read and write just fine, and all the other basics, but ask him anything complicated about history or things like that and he’d probably be stumped.

Character Development Questions #3 - Tastes
   1. What's your character's favourite colour: Dark blue.
   2. Do they/would they choose to wear a scent? What would it be: He has his own scent of risk and stupidity! [/shot] But he probably wouldn’t wear aftershave or anything, not that kind of guy.
   3. Do they care about what things look like? All things, or only some: Hair, a little: if he got fat, he’d be worried; but other than that, he isn’t really that fussy.
   4. What's their favourite ice cream flavour: Strawberry.
   5. Are they a tea, or coffee drinker? Or soft drinks, or do they drink a lot of alcohol? What kind: He doesn’t go near coffee or fizzy, carbonated drinks much- the former, because he doesn’t need the energy pick-me-up, he struggles to sit still without it, and the latter because he doesn’t like the taste or, well, the bubbles. He’s tried alchohol, obviously, but doesn’t drink it regularly, if much at all.
   6. What kind of books do they read?: Action stuff, fantasies- nothing too advanced. What TV shows and movies do they watch?: He’s been brought up not to laze in front of the TV if he can help it.
   7. What kind of music do they like? Do they like music at all?: He likes it, but he doesn’t really actively listen to it- if it’s noisy, he’ll be into it.
   8. If they were about to die, what would they have as their last meal: Uh, something familiar and probably boring- stew or something, probably from when he was a kid.
   9. Are they hedonistic? In all cases? Or does practicality sometimes/always/often win out?: Practicality comes into play most of the time, but… not always.
  10. Do they have any philias or phobias: Combinatiooon! He’s slightly claustrophobic- he gets pretty het up when he feels trapped in a tiny space. And, at the same time, he’s got a love for open spaces, naturally.

Character Development Questions #4 - Morals, Beliefs, and Faith
   1. Do they have an internal or an external moral code: Simple things- he won’t hit girls, he’s against people picking on children, pointless violence, that sort of thing.
   2. To what extent are their actions dictated by this code: He pretty much walked into his own death because some random civilian was being threatened- I think it’s a pretty high extent.
   3. Do they believe in a God or Gods/Goddesses/Higher being of some description: Believes there’s a Heaven, mostly- but is pretty agnostic. He doesn’t know if there is some amazing entity or not. He wouldn’t pray, regardless.
   4. Are they superstitious: Nope!
   5. Do they value faith/instinct more highly than reason: Reason is preeetty low down on that scale…
   6. Do they believe in an afterlife? If so, what's it like?: He thinks there’s a Heaven, and that it’s all fluffy clouds and free drinks and fairground rides. xDD
   7. Do they have any specific beliefs that manifest obviously?: Not really.
   8. Are the respectful of the beliefs of others? To what extent?: He won’t stand around and listen to someone preacing; he’ll tell them to shut their yap. But he won’t be burning down any churches or mosques or the like anytime soon.
   9. Have they ever had to stand up to criticism for being religious? Or not being religious?: Nope.
  10. Would they be more likely to act for the good of the one, or the good of the many?: He’ll save everyone if he can, no matter how ridiculous the feat- unless someone he’s really close to is the one, and in that case he’d pick them in a heartbeat and feel like crap about the majority later.

Character Development Questions #5 - Relationships
   1. Do they make friends easily: Pretty easily, yeah. He tends to get along with people, although he probably gets annoying.
   2. Do they have a best friend: Sad as it is, it was probably Leanne, before… xD But now he doesn’t have a best, best friend, no.
   3. Can they get people to do what they want them to? If so, how?: Zack’s method of persuasion is just constantly pointing out what a great idea whatever it is he wants is, while carrying on as normal. He doesn’t stop. This is pretty much how he got his parents to agree to him leaving home, on the first occasion and then after his accident.
   4. Do they have a lot of romantic relationships? Serious, or short term?: Not since Leanne. He’s been a little busy not bleeding to death and getting people to believe he isn’t tricking them and that he’s actually still alive.
   5. Do they fall in and out of love easily?: Fell in love easily once, but he isn’t fickle.
   6. Do strangers and acquaintances actually like them when they meet?: He tries to get them to like him- probably a little too hard.
   7. Do they have a network?: Not really. He could count as being quite linked, since he’s connected to Leanne and Auron, but disregarding that, no.
   8. What is their relationship like with their family?: A good one- they’re still fairly close, even though he doesn’t live at home and has to work like the old days whenever he goes back.
   9. Are they still in touch with non-family people they were in touch with a year ago? Five years? Ten? More?: Now that he’s dragged himself back to Auron, pretty much- the only one he’s not in contact with is Leanne. [sob]
  10. Do they like children? Do they want children of their own: Loves them, used to tease Leanne about having a bunch all the time. Now, he knows it’s not physically possible since she isn’t around, but when/if he found her, he’d likely be thinking about it.


Character Development Questions #6 - Physical Appearance
   1. How does this character dress? How would they choose to dress, if all options were open to them?: Simply. Whatever he can throw on that isn’t horribly dirty.
   2. Do they have any tattoos? What do they mean: Nope! Though he probably wanted one, it isn’t important to him.
   3. Do they have piercings? How many? Is this culturally appropriate for them: The clips demand he has one in his left ear. I don’t know, he probably thought it made him look less of a hick. It’s not very noticeable, anyway.
   4. Do they have scars? Where did they come from: I imagine he has the odd little one here and there, just from the labour when he was growing up- and then, obviously, bullets through the abdomen tend to leave a mark, so he has some pretty blatant scarring there, as they haven’t had much time to fade.
   5. Do they alter their appearance in some way on a regular basis: Not really, no.
   6. Is there something they'd choose to change about their appearance if they had the opportunity to?: He’s pretty much down with his own appearance, he wouldn’t change anything.
   7. Is there something about their appearance they're particularly proud of/happy with?: That he’s not a total skinny weakling?
   8. Objectively, are they physically attractive? Fairly plain? Unattractive?: Uh, he’s Zack. Plenty attractive. [/shot]
   9. Do they have an accurate mental picture and opinion of their physical appearance?: He thinks he’s ultimately badass, so… he’s got an inflated self-image about his fighting abilities, but not his looks.
  10. How much time do they spend thinking about their physical appearance: Little.

Character Development Questions #7 - General Knowledge
   1. Can they navigate their own local area without getting lost? To what degree?: Gets horribly lost in the town/city/whatever it is, but is pretty good at the country-ish areas. Soon as he’s away from bustle and buildings, he’s fine.
   2. Do they know who the top politician or monarch is where they live? What about elsewhere?: Knows, but only vaguely- as part of the whole freedom-fighting thing, he kind of has to know the guys he should be going after.
   3. Do they know if/where there are any major conflicts going on right now?: In the thick of fighting against it.
   4. Do they know the composition of water: “Water falls from the sky, like… like rain, right? …The hell does composition mean, anyway?”  …Point proven?
   5. Do they know how to eat a pomegranate/weird food thing?: He’d make a good stab at it, but fail and probably try and eat whatever it was like an apple.
    6. Are they good with the technology available to them? Average? Completely hopeless?: Fairly hopeless- he can just about work a phone. And that’s only just about.
   7. Could they paint a house? Without making a mess of it?: Like before, he’d damn well try, but it would probably be very sloppy.
   8. Could they bake a cake? Would you eat it if they did?: Zack can’t cook. He’d burn soup. Soup.
   9. Do they know how to perform basic maintenance on the common mode of transportation?: Yeah, but not particularly neatly. He’s practical enough to figure it out.
  10. Do they know the price of a loaf of bread?: He knows how fast you have to run when you can’t afford it! But, seriously, he probably does know.

Character Development Questions #8 - Specific Knowledge
   1. Do they have a specific qualification in a narrow area?: Nothing officially qualified, no.
   2. Is there something they do or know exceptionally well that most other people don't?: …He can milk a cow? I don’t know! xDD
   3. Do people often comment on a particular skill or area of knowledge to this character? Behind their back?: I doubt many other people are up for chatting about his farming skills, seriously.
   4. Is there an area this character could be considered top of their field or a genius in?: Zack, genius? [snort]
   5. Have they deliberately sought to gain knowledge in a specific area? If so, why?: Nooo, not really. He kind of absorbs info about the Emperor and stuff by osmosis.
   6. Do they speak more than one language? More than two? Why?: Just the one.
   7. Does their cultural background affect what they would be expected to know?: He doesn’t know much cultural trivia, but other than that, he gets by.
   8. Have they ever been publicly acknowledged for being well-versed in something?: Nope!
   9. Have they ever been bullied for knowing a lot about something?: Nooooo.
  10. Do they actively seek new knowledge, or let it come to them naturally?: Lets it come to him, not that it always does.

Character Development Questions #9 - 'What if...' Questions
   1. What if they'd been born with a different biological sex: He probably wouldn’t have settled down and did as he was told, staying with his parents as long as he did… Might have been a bit fussier about his appearance, etcetera.
   2. What if they'd have more or less siblings?: Pretty much the same- he’d be a bit more understanding about brother and sister relationships and stuff, probably.
   3. What if a key formative event in their past had gone differently?: If he hadn’t been shot, he’d still be with Leanne and irritating Auron constantly by sleeping with her.
   4. What if they lost a limb?: Bandage it up, hope it grows back, and keep trying? C’mon, the guy’s had a couple holes blown through his chest and he hasn’t given up yet.
   5. What if someone close to them died unexpectedly?: Really, really close? He’d go into denial about it. Complete and utter denial.
   6. What if they'd been born 50 years earlier? 100 years? 1000?: Less oppression, might have seen a bit more of the world by the age he is now.
   7. What if they'd done something completely different on the morning when the story starts?: It wouldn’t change much. The only thing I can think of that isn’t completely ridiculous is not staying with Auron and Rikku and the others- and even then, he’d go back to them sooner or later.
   8. What if they found enough money to make them wealthy for the rest of their life in a bag?: “YES! I can afford to travel to different places properly and ask if they’ve seen Leanne! <333” …Yeah, he doesn’t actually know yet…
   9. What if they were stranded and deserted?: He’d get pretty stressy when he was alone. He doesn’t like being on his own.
  10. What if they were betrayed by someone they trusted?: Hurt, obviously, but he’d try and get them back.

Character Development Questions #10 - Miscellaneous
   1. What did they have for breakfast this morning?: Toast. Just boring old toast. Probably burnt, if he cooked it.
   2. What ridiculous belief/s did they have as a child?: Not that many. [lololol Psy!Riku pops to mind just reading this one.]
   3. Do they like marshmallows: Loves ‘em, though too much sugar = ughhhhhhh, more hyper than usual.
   4. Do they sleep on their side, front, or back?: Side. Log position, if I’m going to be really fussy. [It’s not my fault, we leanred about this in Psychology!]
   5. Do they work better with sound or silence?: Needs sound, can’t stand silence. Has to make a noise if it’s quiet.
   6. Do they have a strange obsession with something minor?: Nope!
   7. Do they like art?: He doesn’t really care for it, but he doesn’t hate it.
   8. How fast can they run?: At a good speed, but he doesn’t pace himself well- luckily, at least he’s fit enough to not tire so easily.
   9. Do they prefer to sit on the floor or on a chair?: Chair, but not in a formal way- he doesn’t sit with his back straight and all that jazz.
  10. What do they want, right now?: Freeeeeedom! Oh, and Leanne back. Or even just to know where she is, since everyone seems to be conspiring to hide it from him.
